Banquet Room

A sophisticated "Contemporary Japanese Modern" space that portrays on its walls a ichimatsumoyo check pattern evocative of the sliding fusuma doors and shoji partitions from traditional shoin-zukuri architecture notable for its use of tatami mats. Traditional beauty and modern sensibility come together in this brand new installation. Your important gathering will be attended to with meticulous service and hospitality according to your function needs.

Banquet Room KOMOREBI 〔 7F 〕

The natural wood arrangement of the ceiling invites you to feel the tranquility of the forest. Trees bring the warmth of nature to soothe and help set the stage for your party or gathering.

Banquet Room HANAEMI 〔 8F 〕

Bathed in a soft light from the marriage of transparent materials together with a terrace overlooking Midosuji Avenue, this elegant space is beauty in design for stately banquets and casual productions alike.

Banquet Room IBUKI 〔 9F 〕

Our gala room. A fusion of Japanese and Western styles embraced by the dynamic perspective of the ceiling. Boasting a height of 7 meters, the extravagant space makes artful use of a staircase ideal for a touch of the dramatic. From concerts to business meetings, IBUKI will perfectly suit your any need.

A place for people from all around the world to gather, this building has become a new landmark for Minami to contribute to the development of international tourism in Osaka. A masterwork by architect Togo Murano, it is an inheritance of design and continues the legacy of Shinkabukiza which has been the face of Minami over the years. The high-rise design is an expression of elegance and depth of perspective to create a harmony of the past, present and future.

Kengo Kuma

University of Tokyo Professor & Architect

Kengo Kuma was born in 1954. Before establishing Kengo
Kuma & Associates in 1990, he received his Master’s Degree
in Architecture from the University of Tokyo, where he is
currently a Professor of Architecture. Having been inspired by Kenzo Tange’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium, built for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, Kengo Kuma decided to pursue architecture at a young age, and later entered the Architecture program at the University of Tokyo, where he studied under Hiroshi Hara and Yoshichika Uchida. During his Graduate studies, he made a research trip across the Sahara, exploring various villages and settlements, observing a unique power and beauty. After his time as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York, he established his office in Tokyo. Since then, Kengo Kuma & Associates has designed architectural works in over twenty countries and received prestigious awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Award, the Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award (Finland), and the International Stone Architecture Award (Italy), among others. Kengo Kuma & Associates aims to design architecture which naturally merges with its cultural and environmental surroundings, proposing gentle, human scaled buildings. The office is constantly in search of new materials to replace concrete and steel, and seeks a new approach for architecture in a post-industrial society.
